Selena Books in Print? Coming Soon

Sunday, October 2nd, 2011

I get this question a lot and it’s a fairly common search term. So this Sunday, our Someone Searched for It is: are Selena Blake books in print?

Or some variation there of.

Answer: No, Selena Blake books are not (as of September ’11) available in print. If you have a print copy you either printed it out (which is fine) or got snookered by a pirate (arg!).

In the works: A print anthology of the Stormy Weather books. Yay!

Note: If you’re interested in a print version of my books, leave me a comment (or shoot me an email.) This will help me gauge the interest. And you know, nice messages make me work faster.

Response to: Books Without Batteries:The Negative Impacts of Technology

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011

As everyone here knows, I’m pro ebook and pro ebook reader. I’m not anti print book by any stretch of the imagination. But I came across an article today that I just had to respond to. Specifically, this part:

“Here’s what an e-reader is: a battery-operated slab, about a pound, one-half inch thick, perhaps with an aluminum border, rubberized back, plastic, metal, silicon, a bit of gold, plus rare metals such as columbite-tantalite (Google it) ripped from the earth, often in war-torn Africa. To make one e-reader requires 33 pounds of minerals, plus 79 gallons of water to refine the minerals and produce the battery and printed writing. The production of other e-reading devices such as cellphones, iPads, and whatever new gizmo will pop up in the years ahead is similar. “The adverse health impacts [on the general public] from making one e-reader are estimated to be 70 times greater than those for making a single book,” says theĀ Times.”

Me again: One ereader does not equal one book. You can read HUNDREDS or THOUSANDS of books on a SINGLE ereader. Many of the fans I know and love read 70 books a year, easily. So buying an ereader is still a green option for them if it fits in their lifestyle.

A recap…

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

It’s been almost a month since the release of The Cajun’s Captive. And what a month it’s been. Just to recap:

1. The Cajun’s Captive was Cobblestone Press’ #1 Bestseller of June!

No, I can’t believe it either. You guys rock. Thank you SO much to everyone who bought the book. I really hope you enjoyed it.

2. I got my first bit of fan mail.

A big shout out to Judie who looked me up on myspace and here on my blog.

3. Had my first guestbook signing.

Thanks Karen! It’s funny how the little things mean so much.

4. I’ve signed up for Twitter, LiveJournal, et al.

Writing is a very lonely profession if you let it be. But several of my friends and favorite authors are on sites like Twitter, LiveJournal, Myspace, Bebo, Facebook, etc. So I decided to join these sites so I can keep up with these special folks. And hopefully, if someone is looking for me (that’s so cool) they can find me there.

5. I participated in my first Blog Tour.

You probably noticed 13 of my fellow CP authors taking over my blog here. That was a lot of fun. I took over their blogs as well. ;)

6. I’m signed up for a Book Video Blog Tour.

My video is under construction, but the new tour starts July 18. Watch for some awesome videos coming to my blog and my fellow CP authors blogs.

7. I blogged at CP about Menage a Trois.

In honor of Bitten In The Bayou I wrote a blog for Cobblestone Press about Menage a Trois. There’s an exclusive excerpt from Bitten In The Bayou at the bottom.

8. Other Events

I’m signed up for several other events this month, so watch for those. I’ll try to post a list soon.

9. Bitten In The Bayou Release Day!

July 11th was the release date for Bitten In The Bayou. I love this story. It’s hot and steamy and I think shows that love at first sight can hit you hard, when you least expect it. Friday night I had a ball at the CP Chat. Congrats to Amy who won a copy of BITB.

10. NEW Contract for Bound & Determined

Bound and Determined is the 3rd book in the Stormy Series and is under contract with Cobblestone Press. Watch my Twitter news feed for the release date.

This book is about Laurent, the first cousin of Alpha Sebastian. This is a man who knows true love and the pain of losing it. He’s a tortured soul, French by birth, who embraces his inner wolf. Some days he wonders if he has anything left to live for.
