I have the best readers

I know, I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again.

I have the best readers. And sometimes you guys are so hilarious.

On Facebook today I was lamenting how sad it is to see athletes who’ve worked so hard fall short of winning or even placing, due to a bad day or injury. I proposed we give out a Copper Medal to anyone who even makes it to the Olympics.

To which fabulous reader Victoria replied: An Olympic participation medal?? Honey, it’s not t-ball.

Hahahaha! Honestly, I laughed until I cried.

That my friends is our quote of the week!

What event are you watching closely? Is your country doing well in the games? Who’s your favorite athlete?

I understand your feelings, Serena, but it really isn’t T-ball and one must find satisfaction from within to assuage not receiving a ‘gold’, ‘silver’, or ‘bronze’ medal. As cliche and trite as it may sound, it’s a real honor to even arrive and participate in the Olympics. I certainly could not now or ever “(I coulda) have been a contender.” Hmmm, that smacks of a classic movie doesn’t it?
