Guilt is a Bitch

I have the best fans in the world. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again and again. I’m so blessed that they love my work and always want more.

But the problem is, every minute I’m not writing these days, I feel guilty.

I feel guilty for watching DWTS when I could be working on a new book.

I feel guilty for relaxing with a cup of coffee or a glass or wine when I could be hammering out  a new plot.

I feel guilty when I’m sick and just not feeling up to writing.

The problem is, I have no idea how to stop feeling guilty. Maybe the feeling will end when my next book comes out. I hope.

You sound like me…I do this all the time..The difference is I don’t watch TV. It is other stuff..But the rest, yup I know how you feel.

in order for you to be the great writer you are you need to charge your battery’s, take care of your self first. Don’t feel guilty, the quiet times you take will give you fresh ideas for a new book or to reflect on all you have acomplished. DO NOT FEEL GUILTY WE ALL NEED SOME DOWN TIME OR WE ARE GOING TO DEFLATE.

Well, I can’t speak for anyone else but I don’t want a burnt-out “Selene Blake, former author” :(   So, DWTS only comes on once or twice a week…WATCH IT!  You need a break with a cup of coffee or some wine…DRINK IT!  And last but not least, if you don’t feel well…REST until you feel better.  It is better for us, as fans/readers, to do without you for a little while instead of a long while, while you try to find your muse again.

No reason for the guilt :)  We will still be here when you’re ready to write and finish the next book ;)
